Artist's description:

‘Great things are done when men and mountains meet; this is not done by jostling in the street.’
William Blake

This painting was inspired by Blake's quote.
Mountains have a magical quality whether it's looking at them in the distance or enjoying the panoramic views we have from the top. They play a special part in the landscape.

The quote brought to mind the wide open expanses of bogland and mountains in the west of Ireland. The golden light on the mountain makes it glow a warm orange colour as the mist swirls around it.
