"Lake on the Mountain" is an original acrylic painting inspired by the mysterious Lake on the Mountain in Prince Edward County, Ontario. Bathed in the warm glow of sunset, the landscape invites the viewer into a place where nature and legend meet. Two quiet canoes drift across luminous waters, leading the eye toward the enigmatic lake perched high above the Bay of Quinte.
The painting pays tribute to the Mohawk tradition, in which the lake—known as the "Lake of the Gods"—was believed to be home to powerful spirits. Offerings were made each spring to honor these waters and ensure a bountiful harvest.
