While in Crested Butte painting plein air I went up to Lake Irwin and did some small paintings and took some reference photos. In my studio I created this painting from the small studies and photos I had taken. This is the feeling of peace and tranquility I found up at this mountain lake. Painted with pallet knife for texture and depth.
