Original artwork description:

A wire portrait of a lady wearing a flower in her hair with the expression of vulnerability on her face. This originally started as a continuous line drawing on paper. Once you make contact with the paper you are keeping the line flowing. The completed drawing gives the effect that it could be unwound or unraveled. Rather than using multiple lines you use a single line, the line connects forms, bridging spaces between objects. Not only are outside edges described, internal shapes are also drawn. To transfer it into a 3D sculpture I used a single piece of wire, but this time bringing her to life by stretching and bending the wire out from the page, giving the impression she is bursting to life. She makes the most amazing shadows as seen in the video. She is hung on a wall by a translucent cord with a hoop at the end. Small veneer pins are included and these can be easily hammered into a wall with very little damage to the wall itself. Alternatively she can be hung off any sort of hook as she is lightweight.
Please be aware this sculpture is made from aluminium and needs to be handled with care, if dropped from a height it will bend out of shape.

Materials used:

Aluminium wire
