It was so much fun after doing so many Bottle and Flower Still Life Paintings, to finally go back to a Figurative piece. As I prepare to get back to my life in France, I always get nostalgic about Fall in Paris; particularly the Luxembourg Gardens. The inspiration for this piece was taken from that feeling, as well as from an Ink on Paper Drawing I did a few months ago, of an image similar to this Woman. In this piece, I utilized the Inks and the Dry Brushing techniques I just began using in the last few Flower Paintings I’ve done, as well as creating a more Decorative a Background for this Figure, than I normally do. ( In fact the design in the lower portion of the piece, is a pattern I copied from an Embroidered Skirt I own!) The Canvas is painted around the edges so it can be hung unframed, if preferred.
