A view of the Lace of the Three Lords in a late afternoon of early summer, when the sun is now in the west, before setting, the light strikes the south slope, the play of lights and shadows that is created reveals a de labylus of canals and protrusions that give an austere appearance to this beautiful Orobic mountain that owes its name to
Already from the first half of 1500 it was touched by the State of Milan to the south, by the Republic of Venice to the east and by the Republic of the Three Leagues (Confederazione Helvetica) to the north that at that time occupied the Valtellina;
‘Today the ’‘three Lords’‘ who divide the mountain are the province of Lecco in the south, that of Bergamo in the east and that of Sondrio in the north.’
