J'avais donné aux modèles une corde. Elles m'ont proposé plusieurs poses. J'en ai retenu une. J'allais faire un tableau qui pourrait rentrer dans le cycle ''Sainte Mnémogyne''. Depuis plusieurs années, je réalise toute une série de tableaux sur cette sainte apocryphe. Le noir et blanc me permet d'aller à l'essentiel des corps, sans aucune séduction. Ce qui renforce un côté mélodramatique totalement assumé.
I gave the models a rope. They suggested several poses. I chose one. I was going to do a painting that could be part of the "Saint Mnemogyne" cycle. For several years now, I've been doing a whole series of paintings on this apocryphal saint. Black and white allows me to get to the essence of the bodies, without any seduction. This reinforces a totally melodramatic side.
