Antonino Puliafico’s "La bella del porto" is an original oil painting on canvas in which landscape, light and natural rhythm are reinterpreted through a contemporary, tactile language. Measuring 98 × 113 cm and dated 2025, the work balances immediate visual impact with close-range surface detail.
Through palette knife and impasto, Puliafico lets colour accumulate, break apart and reconnect across a visibly worked surface.
This vibrant seascape unleashes Mediterranean light in swirling chromatic bursts that echo lyrical Expressionism and late Impressionism. Puliafico, a master of tactile impasto, constructs the harbour as a living mosaic: lacquered reds on façades, acid greens in foliage, cobalts and turquoises across rippling water, pearly whites animating a sky in perpetual motion.
