Size: Triptych 100x100cm;100x100cm;100x100cm
"Kyiv through the Century" was created based on a retro photograph of my hometown, Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The painting captures Maidan Nezalezhnosti, the main square of the country, as it appeared 100 years ago. Many of the buildings depicted in the painting did not survive, as centre part of Kyiv were destroyed during World War II. This work is a reflection on the passage of time and the resilience of a city.
The piece is a triptych, with each canvas measuring 100x100 cm, created with oil on canvas from 2016-2018. It is ready to hang, with the edges painted to enhance its presentation. The painting is signed on both the front and back and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
