This bright and vibrant piece captures the power of the sunlight, as it reflects and highlights the colours beneath the ripples in the pond.
To me this painting gives me the feelings of a summer day. I see flashes of colour from the basking Koi beneath the surface.
The layers in this piece are developed by forming texture through layering and blending the paint, building depth and highlights. I lay a palette beneath and then pull this through, to create bright undertones.
