Original artwork description
‘JULY SNAPSHOT’ is an acrylic painting 28x20 cms on 300gms canvas paper. It is presented in a white card mount 35x28cms. It is part of a series of works which focus on ‘garden’ environments. The painting conveys the impression of a ‘moment’, a glimpse of a space in time. The elements that make up the painting have a close relationship to recollection, emotion and imagination comprising colour, abstract shape, line, pattern and brush mark and illusory space. There are clear references to a garden location. Sweet peas, sprawling lavatera, trailing lobelia and night scented stock providing pinks , purples and turquoise.
