‘JUGANDO’ is an acrylic painting 28cms x 20cms on canvas paper. It is presented in a white card mount 35cms x 28cms It is part of a series of three studies which take their inspiration from modern and contemporary music. In this case, this series relates to African and Latin cultures. ‘Jugando’ is the Spanish word for ‘playing’. The painting tries to capture the energy and spirit of frenetic dance and expression of movement. It is about the joy of ‘play’ . In this respect every brushstroke, every smear, every drag, every splash is instinctive, gestural and explosive. It is joyful and expressive in its composition.
