All of my paintings are created without using any brushes. The only tools I use in a process of painting are palette knifes and different blades. In most of the cases, main subject of my paintings is human body. Character in the painting is always based on a real person. Each model plays very important part in creation of the artwork. I always get to know my sitter before starting to create the composition of a particular piece.
But the most important part of my work is a LIGHT! That's a biggest inspiration, mystery and obsession of my mind while I am working on a painting. My approach is - to devote as much attention to the light as possible. The light is very powerful tool to express your thoughts and emotions. I am always looking for a most suitable angle of a light source, intensity of the light, reflecting surfaces... Have been working on it for many years, and I am still fascinated how often there is a new surprise just round the corner. Usually it reflects more than our perception is able to digest.
This particular piece has been painted specially for annual competition of the white colour interpretations, organized in Lithuania by the most beautiful gallery "Balta" in a center of Kaunas city old town. I am glad to notify, that it took first place and won for me grand prize - exclusive exhibition in the gallery. You have possibility to purchase a winning piece of art.
