Like every big city, London is made up of many distinct districts, Camden is one of them and is independent, quirky, and, magical.
When you emerge from the tube station onto Camden’s streets, it is an assault on the senses. a vintage feel that imbues the atmosphere as well as the markets. The tiny shops that line the High Street offer everything from goth to hippie fashions and boldly advertise their wares with surreal, artistic shop-fronts. Many members of the public also seem to be promoting the fashions, with their bold clothing choices and eye-catching hairstyles. Camden is a heady cocktail, buzzing and alive. It is the place to come to be caught up in the energy of a fast-paced, creative, hedonistic community, you can’t beat it. There is something about Camden that makes the pulse quicken and the heart sing.
Always with a great sense of architectural space, Alan has managed to paint the big cities, either New York or London or Paris, he creates in his work a unique concept that stands out from his contemporaries. His ability to abstract the main elements of each city and create that image with which the public easily connects and which is part of their own experience is unique.
