Okay; this one was fun because I had been itching to paint this particular jar of flowers! I don’t know what these flowers are called but they have been popping up around my SoCal beach town the past few weeks! The stems are thick and wide, and each holds several flowers! No; I was not trying to get all “Picasso” regarding the Jar here. In this case, I simply moved the Subject to a position in front of my window where it was visible to reference. The light coming in and through the jar, created all the Cut Out looking shapes and spheres! I simply painted it as it appeared, but what fun! This canvas is painted around the edges so the piece can be hung, unframed.
