Inspired by the famous fable of the Scorpion and the Frog, this painting explores the concept of instinct versus trust. The subject matter also draws from personal history: growing up, my father kept a variety of exotic animals, including both frogs and scorpions. By blending a classic allegorical tale with these vivid childhood memories, the piece examines how nature ultimately dictates behaviour.
