From the series Intervals
This work continues my ongoing exploration of geometric rhythm and structure. Repeated patterns form a visual framework within which a single figure is introduced, creating a moment of pause and contrast without disrupting the underlying order.
The kingfisher is rendered using simplified, architectural lines that echo the geometry of the background while remaining distinct from it. Its compact posture and directed gaze introduce a quiet tension, holding stillness within a shifting spatial field.
Rather than telling a narrative, the piece focuses on balance, spacing and the dialogue between repetition and presence. The kingfisher becomes a measured interruption — a point of clarity within an otherwise continuous visual rhythm.
Intervals builds on ideas first explored in my earlier Origami series, extending them toward a more restrained and contemplative language, where form, colour and placement define the experience.
