Original artwork description:

Painted on-site near the artist's home in Minneapolis. Features a group of three flowering crabapple trees whose branches mesh together at the sides. The blossoms of the center tree are less open than the two on the sides, and are therefore darker in color, a deep red-magenta. The blossoms on the right and left trees are more fully open and therefore lighter in color, a magenta-pink, with the tree on the left also showing more green leaves mixed in. Each tree's individual coloring brings something unique to the group.
This painting is made with oil over casein paint. The softly textured blue sky, yellow-green background, and dark green grass were painted with casein and finished with an oil glaze. The trees were painted in oil, with the texture of the blossoms enhanced by thickly textured paint. A light splattering effect in pink and blue paint adds an atmospheric effect to the scene. Ready to hang on stretched canvas with painted sides.
