Not long ago, I climbed Mount Elbrus — my very first ascent. And honestly, it changed everything. I’ve always considered myself a self-aware person, someone who’s done a lot of inner work, who understands herself and life pretty well. But that mountain somehow brought all the pieces together.

For a long time, I kept asking myself: what’s the meaning of life? I used to think it was in family, in children, in reaching goals. But each time I achieved something — even really meaningful things — I was surprised to feel emptiness instead of joy. No wave of happiness, just a strange sense of disappointment.

And then one day, a psychologist said to me: “There is no meaning to life. The meaning is life itself.” It sounded simple, but it landed deep. Our minds love having a clear goal. Something to chase. But even when we get there — what then? Often, nothing happens. No magic. No revelation. Just another peak that didn’t bring what we hoped.

That’s what Elbrus gave me: the understanding that the real meaning is in the journey. In the path back to yourself.

Climbing that mountain wasn’t just a physical experience — it became a metaphor for inner work. You walk in silence, your body hurting, your breath shallow — and the mountain starts asking: “Why are you here?” It feels like you’re talking to something divine. But then you realize: that voice is yours. That mountain, that gaze watching you — it’s you.

In my new artwork, I tried to capture that exact feeling. A figure walking toward the mountain, under the gaze of a giant eye. But the eye isn’t some external force — it’s the inner observer. The part of you that watches, questions, and listens.

This climb became a dialogue with myself. And this painting is my attempt to share that conversation — about the journey, the questions, and the quiet, powerful moment when you finally see yourself.

Discover “Eye‑Mountain Journey” — a large-scale acrylic painting in a flat illustration style, crafted to spark introspection and inspire.

Painted after my transformative first ascent of Mount Elbrus, this piece merges vibrant minimalism with a powerful narrative. A lone figure stands before an eye-shaped mountain, surrounded by rivers, clouds, flowers, trees, buildings, cars, and more—rendered in bold strokes, bright colors, and high saturation.
