This painting is my reflection on independence as an inner state rather than a physical separation.
The figure stands at a threshold — between openness and protection, tradition and personal choice. The partially
opened door symbolizes the ability to decide: when to allow closeness and when to remain sovereign.
Traditional elements in the image speak of roots, memory, and inherited strength. Independence here is not a
rejection of origins, but a conscious continuation of them. The key represents agency — the right to choose one’s own
path and to define boundaries.
“Independent” is about quiet strength, self-ownership, and the dignity of standing firmly within oneself.
