Oblitus belongs to my series Transitus Animae, where I explore how the inner life leaves traces on the body. I was inspired by the intimate gesture of placing the hands on the chest—a universal sign of truth, self-care, and quiet prayer. The deep shadow crossing the face acts like time itself: it hides and reveals, suggesting the layered nature of identity.
I chose image transfer on canvas because the medium accepts imperfection. During the process, parts of the image naturally lift and fade. I intentionally leave a partial paper layer to create a soft veil, so the figure feels both present and distant. I hope viewers feel calm, introspective, and slightly suspended—aware of their own breathing as they look.
