"In Velvet" is part of my Embered series, a collection that explores states of inner warmth, quiet presence, and emotional depth.
Created through a layered process of applying, removing, and reworking paint, the artwork carries traces of its own history. Fragments of underlying layers remain subtly visible, creating depth, rich texture, and a sense of time embedded within the surface.
The composition feels both serene and powerful. Soft fields of colour gather, dissolve, and merge in a quiet visual dialogue. Warm shades of magenta, rose, violet, and earthy neutrals create an atmosphere of calm while giving the painting an almost tactile presence.
Rather than depicting a specific place, In Velvet expresses a state of being—an invitation to pause, grounded in warmth, stillness, and inner balance.
