A woman in a crimson dress kneels at the edge of a lake and reaches down towards the water, where a weathered stone statue lifts its hand to meet hers. Their fingertips almost touch at the surface. This original figurative oil painting is divided into two worlds: a golden-hour sky and gently rippling water above, and deep cobalt-blue water below, filled with rising bubbles, golden fish and orange aquatic plants around the sunken figure.

For me, this painting is about the moment of almost-touching: the thin line between what is alive and what time has turned to stone, between the present and memory. It's about overcoming one's own fears, dormant dreams and the road to self-realisation.
About emotions that sometimes cannot be put into words.
