Original artwork description:

Depicting a glacial river's estuary, 'In Gratitude...' is a simple yet complex painting. The motif of the water finding its way to the horizon is belied by its path of least resistance. Upon first inspection the palette appears monochromatic, yet colours both warm and cool evolve from closer viewing. I feel it's a painting that demands time to unfold - it's a snapshot, yet is timeless. I have referenced the composer Akira Kosemura because of the time spent listening to his work during the making of this painting.
