The full title of the painting is: 'Imagine The Things I'm Afraid Of'. The painting was inspired by Monica Vitti as Giuliana in Michelangelo Antonioni's psychological film 'Red Desert' of 1964. A film noted for it's themes of contemporary alienation in a technological age. This was the director, Antonioni's, first colour film; he said he wanted to shoot the film 'like a painting on a canvas'.
Seemed appropriate to paint part of a scene from the film on canvas....
