The Passage - Oil on panel - 110x185 cm - 2020/2023
I started "The Passage" in 2020 and in 2023 I completed the painting by focusing on the details and characters that I had found within the work, the result of this internal investigation is an ancestral landscape inhabited by characters belonging to my past, present and future; there is the little girl who travels towards her destiny with her eyes closed, my grandmother Gisu as always surrounded by cigarette smoke and with her very long hair intertwined with the contours of the earth, the aliens who are arriving and a fiery red God who watch and wait. This work was presented during my personal exhibition CROSSOVER at Domus Art Gallery in Athens in 2023.
