This artwork is a new published in the new Dot Art series.
It was created by coloring n.494 (26x19) small wooden discs 2.50 cm in diameter each

Marilyn and the Gestalt Illusion - This portrait of Marilyn Monroe is a triumph of Gestalt psychology. The work doesn't paint a face, but instructs the brain to create one. By exploiting the decomposition into a grid of isolated tiles, the artist plays with our innate capacity for amodal completion: the visual system ignores the empty spaces between the tiles, "merging" the colors and shapes into a coherent image. The mind connects patches of color, reconstructs lines, fills in gaps.
The rounded-edge tiles act like analog pixels. Up close, the eye perceives abstract fragments; As you move away, the spatial frequency decreases, and the brain synthesizes the contrasts—the red of the lips, the blue of the eyelids—rendering the perfect icon. It's a fascinating dialogue between geometric abstraction and biological recognition, where emptiness isn't absence, but the space necessary for the observer to become an integral part of the creative process.
