This painting begins a series of works about girls from the 1920s, called "I loved Picasso and Mayakovsky." Mayakovsky is a prominent figure of Futurism, poet, play director. He was a very bright figure in St. Petersburg at the beginning of the twentieth century and women loved him. Just like Picasso who lived in Montparnasse at the same time. In some sense this girl could be defined as the muse of all those artists and poets of bohemian cafes of Montparnasse.
I paint right upon the collages, or this is a combination of both – drawing and painting. I like working with rough ruined by myself pieces of paper. I specially seek for these materials, and they have a liberating effect on me as this technique allows unplanned shaping and endless rearrangement at the same time…
I used also vintage paper of books of 1970s...
The Girl is painted HANDMADE , no digital !
All that is painted and glued on the good quality toned paper 300 gsm.
Art Deco, Urban Art, Pop Art and more...
The artwork took part in the exhibition.
