In this hyperrealistic study, I explored the vibrant interplay of sunlight filtering through the delicate, velvety petals of red tulips. Painted over the course of 8 intensive hours of studio work, this piece focuses on the translucent quality of the floral tissues and the subtle temperature shifts from deep crimson shadows to bright pink highlights.

I chose a professional Ampersand Gesso Board for this artwork; its ultra-smooth surface allows for a level of detail and glaze depth that traditional canvas cannot support. The deep, muted background was intentionally rendered with a soft bokeh effect to make the main subjects 'pop' with three-dimensional intensity.

This is a collector’s piece, part of a new botanical series dedicated to the 'Lesser Gems' of nature.
