Meet my new botanical painting. It's one of the floral paintings on canvas with the purple hyacinth created on plein air. When I was looking for still life ideas I was highly inspired by old masters still life oil painting. But I wanted to add some contemporary updates, I didn't want to create another garden painting.

So in places, the untouched rough linen canvas emphasises the delicacy of the flower painting

I created this collection "Alla Prima. Plein Air" to capture special flowers from my garden and beautiful landscapes with a focus on the colours in the natural light of the Mediterranean sun.
