In creating this painting, I embraced a blend of expressionism, impressionism, and realism to capture the vibrant essence of a rural landscape transformed by winter. Using oil on cotton, I focused on bold colors and dynamic textures to bring life to the snow-covered village, contrasting sharply with vivid, fluttering garments that suggest the lingering spirit of the community. This artwork aims to evoke a sense of warmth and nostalgia, inviting the viewer to feel the pulsating heart of village life amidst the serene chill of winter. It's a celebration of resilience and communal bonds, perfect to enrich any room with a touch of emotional depth and visual warmth.
And one more thing. This work is a unique hymn to the Ukrainian traditions of Carpathian villages. The Carpathians, the Hutsuls, and folklore—all are captured on canvas.
