I suppose this piece came bounding out of the overflow of my heart and emotions; a sense of being so full I could burst. I’d spent some days around my Birthday in one of my favorite towns on the Italian Riviera, and traipsed through some neighboring towns and villages with dear friends. I came back to Menton feeling filled to the brim with joy and colorful charm. I guess this painting ended up being my way of expressing it.
