The notion of time and its symbols are recurring themes in the artist's work.
A dynamic approach to reflection, a natural component of the human experience, the lens through which one perceives one's existence and relationship to the world.
Time is an innate part of who we are, governing our lives despite ourselves. The work and artist interact in an energetic, silent and meditative trance-like state that leads the artist beyond the boundaries of our world.
How does the artist experience the phenomenon of time?
"I see it as a plain circle, stripped of any conceptual content, a journey formed of textures and their many layers: the rust evokes the passing of time; the clear-cut, powerful lines crystallise time to better understand it, and the graphic incisions lead on to a cohesive and solid structured whole.
The circle emerges, it takes shape and tells a story, leading us deep into the heart of our personal stories, giving our imaginations space to flourish, quietly supporting us in our contemplations.
The quest for its essence is a need I experience as something that is almost vital, a desire to purify the colours, to slough away anything that is not strictly necessary, the pursuit of obsessive minimalism in a bid to achieve the perfect line."
All that remains is the emotional matter that exists through its own unadulterated energy, over and above physical depiction.
