Homeland presents a tightly woven field of horizontal lines composed from hand-cut strips of antique and modern maps. Its linear rhythm mimics the layered sediment of geography and memory, echoing land divided and redivided over time.

Every strip holds traces of journeys, shifts in power, and reimagined borders — some sourced from maps over 150 years old. This combination of past and present invites reflection on how maps record not only topography but stories of human movement, belonging and control.

The composition suggests horizon lines, boundaries, and migrations. It calls attention to the quiet imprint of lives lived across shifting territories and asks what connects us to place — inheritance, intention, or identity.
