* When I walk down 5th Avenue, I feel amused by some invisible force. Could that be Christmas spirit or some optimistic source in general?
* My original Christmas painting inspires this painting, but what I am looking for in this painting is more of Spirit than what I see in front of me...Edward Hopper once said that he had to simplify a 'great deal' to get close to what he desired. The theory remains the same, but the painting is different.
