Hold me Close | Original Impressionist Water Lily Painting

Hold Me Close was created during a quiet return to painting, a moment of returning — to painting, and to myself.

I started painting this after taking a break… and somewhere in the process, I felt like myself again. I wasn’t trying to get anywhere — I was just painting, slowly, listening to the colors and the water. It felt comforting… familiar.

I didn’t rush it — I let each layer sit. I kept coming back to the water, the cool blues,
and little moments around me that slowed things down.

Hold Me Close is really about staying with that quiet feeling.

That feeling stayed with me, and that’s why I titled this piece Hold Me Close.”
