Hidden Stories from the Garden
A fragment of my garden, in the evening light, when the sun gradually hides its light behind the crown of the cherry trees and the shy rays sneak through the tangled leaves of jasmine, echinacea's, sedums and oxalis to illuminate the ornaments of the triumphant hydrangeas.
This painting bursts with dense, layered brushwork in electric blues, neon greens, vivid pinks, reds, and white.
Petal-like marks and leaf-shaped strokes scatter across the canvas, while a bright cluster near the center-left anchors the composition. Thick, glossy paint creates a lively surface, with diagonal sweeps and small drips adding movement throughout.
