Work from the series "Elementa"
In addition to the classical elements, earth, water, fire, air and gas (space), in many ancient eastern concepts of self there are an additional two: consciousness (thought itself) and the element of spirit. Each of us is comprised of all seven elements.
Further to this, since ancient times, philosophers have suggested that love is an elemental force of nature, like gravity or electromagnetism. The power that drives the stars, they say, is the same force that compels the human heart.
Exploring these concepts the Artist continues to utilise colour, light, scale, space, texture and emotion to sustain her practice.
"Here Comes the Night" is a 1964 song, written by Bert Berns. It became a hit for Northern Irish band Them, fronted by Van Morrison, in March 1965.
Painting is strung ready to hang and signed on the canvas deep edge.
