Artwork description
This work was inspired by a visit to this lovely staircase at Heals department store in London.
It had spherical lights hanging down the length which made interesting shapes within the steps. I developed this into a linocut using a homemade black as the relief colour. You can see a variety of lines that I created with different lino tools.
Materials used:
Japanese vinyl, paper and professional oil based printmaking ink
