In this painting, I wanted to capture the serenity and purity of a winter morning. The first rays of sunlight shimmer across the icy river, reflecting warmth amidst the cold blue landscape. I aimed to evoke a sense of harmony between stillness and vitality — the quiet presence of warmth within winter’s embrace.
I used a contrast of cool and warm tones — dominant blues accented with touches of golden light — to create depth and emotional tension. The brushwork blends impasto textures with soft blending, allowing the snow’s solidity to coexist with the river’s fluid reflections, evoking a crisp, transparent atmosphere.
