What a wonderful busy town, Puerto de la Cruz is! I much prefer the North of the Island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands than the South, full of holiday Homes.
This is the colourful harbour, though in Winter when I visit, the boats are out of the water. In the painting is the old castle and the building which is used as the tourist information and exhibition area.
The watercolour was painted en plein air, ie. on site, using top quality non fade pigments on heavyweight rag paper. I generally mount in white and use ready made easily available 16 x 20 inch frames,
