Something about these rats in the pet store caught my attention. There was something missing in their behavior, something that my childhood hamsters, guinea pigs, and other pets had. The rats were peacefully bustling around in their aquarium and seemed quite content with their lives.

Perhaps they only knew this small world, confined by glass walls. But I used to take my pets in my hands, let them run around the room, and even outside. They had seen that Big world, which they could never forget. That's why they would excitedly stand on their hind legs, trying to reach the edge and break free. They simply couldn't be happy in their small, cozy corner anymore... And people are the same way...
