BEHIND THE SCENES: Iceland has one of the most unique and dramatic landscapes on the planet with volcanoes, geysers, hot springs and lava fields. It’s a challenging place to photograph, in part due to the extreme unpredictability of the weather. I had planned this shoot months in advance and timed my adventure to coincide with a full moon. We trekked for 4 days looking for the perfect composition and when I came upon the Fossa River in Haifoss, I knew I had found it. I setup my camera and tripod late in the afternoon and waited in the freezing cold and sometimes rain. As the evening progressed, the clouds began to break apart and we were greeted by some of the most amazing light I’d ever seen. Completely mesmerized by the winding river lit up by the moon’s glow, I snapped the shutter and captured a truly magical moment.
