An original oil painting that brings classical architecture into dialogue with a contemporary skyline. Cool, muted blue-violet tones shape atmospheric depth and morning haze, while bright red double-deck buses punctuate the scene with human rhythm and movement. Painted from an elevated viewpoint, the composition emphasises perspective and scale — towering facades frame small, mobile figures and vehicles, creating a quiet tension between structure and everyday life. Visible brushwork and layered paint convey moist air and architectural clarity at once.
I’m interested in the interaction between urban order and incidental gestures of daily life. In this piece I used restrained colour to let the red buses act as timing and direction — small pulses that animate the city’s measured rhythm.
