Everything is slightly muted — sky, buildings, time itself. Only the autumn tree insists on colour. Grey façades dissolve into the background, like a distant memory, while the vivid orange leaves create a sudden vertical pulse of life. It’s the kind of day when the city feels suspended — quiet, slow, and strangely comforting — a moment between thoughts.

Soft pastel on toned paper. The grain of the paper becomes part of the atmosphere: it supports the quiet greys, and lets the warmer tones breathe. Visible strokes are intentional — this mark-making is part of the storytelling, not a draft.

This piece works beautifully as a warm accent in restrained, minimalist interiors — especially where there is concrete, stone, graphite, or muted neutral colour palettes.
