Once again, I've created a work inspired by the magnolia. The photograph for this piece was taken in my own backyard.
This time, I worked on a thin aluminium frame with linen canvas and a decorative bronze-palladium hand-painted border. In the work itself, I chose not to use chrome this time and opted for green and coral tones instead. By working with digital design processes, dia-positives, and various layers in Photoshop, a vibrant image emerged, which I had printed.
I then treated this print with gel medium, acrylic paint, oil paint, and oil pastels. I applied the materials using palette knives, rollers, sponges, brushes, and my fingers, resulting in a dynamic, richly textured surface.
The work measures 120x120 cm (framed 123x123 cm). A different frame colour is optional.
This process creates an interplay between digital precision and manual artistry, which often sparks curiosity in viewers.

Materials used:

Print, heavy gel medium, acrylics, oilpaint, oilsticks, chromepaint, satin coating.
