Beneath the orange dawn, the ocean sighs in light,
Where dreaming ferris wheels dissolve in misted gold.
Between the sleepy sky and trembling sea,
The newborn day exhales in quiet fire,
And all the world, in hushed and gentle awe,
Stills its breath before the coming glow.
In this work, I wanted to capture the intensity of a vibrant sunrise, where tawny colors ignite along the horizon. The ferris wheel, both a simple figure and a naïve impression, evokes the gentleness and nostalgia of suspended moments. Grains of sand from the coast of the North Sea have adhered to the paint, reminding us of the wonderful morning sea breeze of Noordwijk.
