Golden Pop Pear (2025) Original Oil Painting by Tetiana Surshko

60 x 80 x 2cm

£1,200.36

One pear, painted big and bright and completely unbothered. It sits dead centre of the canvas in glowing yellow and gold, a single green leaf at the stem, its skin built up in smooth curved strokes so the light seems to slide around it. Behind it there is no table and no room — just a curtain of vertical stripes in red, turquoise, white and blue, dripping slightly at the edges, half pop art and half painterly.

That contrast is the whole idea. The pear is rendered almost lovingly, with real volume and warmth, while the background is flat, graphic and loud. The fruit stays classical; everything around it turns up the volume.

I painted it fast and kept it simple on purpose — a everyday object treated like a poster, something that should make a kitchen or a dining wall feel a little more cheerful the moment you walk in.

Oil on canvas, 60 x 80 cm, painted in 2025. Signed on the front, varnished, sides painted, sold unframed and ready to hang straight out of the box. Part of my Harvest & Delight series of bold, oversized food paintings.

Materials used:

Oil paint, stretched cotton canvas

About
Colour is the engine of everything I paint. I'm drawn to the moment when an ordinary thing turns intense — a bouquet that burns like fire, a wave a second... Read more
