This painting celebrates old dogs, I just love a grey old muzzle and that world tired noble look old dogs get when they reach their dotage, my own dogs have been going through a lot of problems lately and I worry that they won't get to this stage so it makes me appreciate any dogs that do achieve old dog status.

I have painted these two old friends on a W12 x D9inch stretched canvas using acrylic paints and layers of ink, crayon and pencil keeping the appearance loose but with depth. To make them stand out and add a little special glimmer the background has been finished in gold foil flakes and sealed with satin varnish then framed in a black wooden floating frame, they are ready to hang.
