The colour for this canvas was inspired by some rose petals I had drying in my kitchen. Hares can be very well camouflaged in their habitats and I wanted to show that in this mixed media canvas. I enjoyed building up the layers with various papers, petals, paint and buttons.

I start the canvas with a rough pencil sketch and then I add the coloured paper before building up the layers with acrylic paint. The last thing I add are the embellishments of thread, beads, buttons and glitter to pick out or highlight certain areas.

Materials used:

Mixed media collage: acrylics, paper, thread, beads, glitter, buttons
